BioCapt® Single-Use Microbial Impactor

Sensitivity range: 1 cfu

The BioCapt® Single-Use active air microbial sampler is the latest innovation in the BioCapt Air Sampling product line. Using a radial slit impactor design similar to other BioCapt Air Sampling atria, the product complies with ISO 14698-1. This fully-prepared and sterilized unit eliminates agar plate preparation and minimizes operator handling.

Operator sample handling has been directly linked to costly falsepositive investigations. As a ready-to-use sterilized unit, the BioCapt Single-Use eliminates unintended contamination by removing operator interaction with media and sterile re-usable stainless steel impactor heads.

This product achieves sampling with minimal air disruption and can be used to sample efficiently at 25 or 50 l/min (recommended) to suit both routine monitoring and fast sampling needs.

Most recently released to fulfill requests from the market for troubleshooting and analytical applications, the 100 LPM BCSU uses the same innovative radial slit design as the 25 & 50 LPM models, sharing the advantages of the known and trusted single use technology. Validated at the Centre for Applied Microbiology & Research (CAMR), a Health Protection Agency (HPA) at Porton Down, it achieves isokinetic sampling for minimal air turbulence in compliance with ISO 14698-1 and can be used for sampling and troubleshooting at 100 LPM.

Gamma-irradiated and H2O2 impermeable packing – The BioCapt Single-Use is gamma-irradiated in the final manufacturing step after it is triple-bagged, with the two outer bags made of H2O2 impermeable packaging. Elimination of external contamination improves reliability and enables validated recovery of microorganisms on the prepared culture media.

GMP compliance – BioCapt Single-Use meets GMP Compliance guidance for microbiological monitoring in cleanrooms and sterile production facilities during aseptic and sterile production. BioCapt Single-Use is easily introduced into a new environmental monitoring program or into any active air monitoring hardware system with fixed vacuum systems already in use.

Features

  • Complies with ISO 14698-1
  • Meets GMP Annex 1, rev 12 single use requirements
  • Culture media validated to be stored either at room temperature or under refrigeration, with a shelf life of up to nine months for viable monitoring
  • Offered in standard culture media of trypticase soy agar (TSA) and sabouraud dextros agar (SDA), as well as client-specific, pre-validated microbiological culture media
  • Compatible with leading active air monitoring systems
  • Replaces settle plates in cleanrooms
  • Use as part of a data integrity program
  • Reduces the risk of spills which cause contamination
  • 100 LPM plates compatible with the MiniCapt® Mobile

Benefits

  • Reduced risk of contamination by improper handling of media plates (elimination of false positives)
  • Eliminates time consuming and operatordependent cleaning and process steps associated with traditional stainless steel microbiological samplers. Specifically:
  • Disinfection
  • Sanitization
  • Sterilization and autoclaving procedures
  • Simplified SOP’s eliminate possible injuries and handling concerns with stainless steel impactors
  • Risk reduction during the introduction and withdrawal of microbiological sampling plates in sterile production areas
